  1. Do these apps have the panel functionality? Or is it that only official NI apps are ever going to have that functionality?

  2. Well, this sounds really good!! Looking forward to the next update!! 🙂

  3. good news rohan… you are making me to expect more n more.. hope no disappointments further..if all this happening in may and june then i am one those luckiest who decided to stick on adam whatever happens..

  4. Finally, some sensible decisions coming from NI. No need to re-invent the wheel when someone has better wheels with proven abilities already available.
Now get the bloody things on sale! The aussie dollar has nearly hit $1.10 USD – let me buy one already! Enough waffling pseudo-new-age-babble and promises of things to come.

Waiting is [shitty] …to paraphrase a certain patient poster.

Oh, and Facebook bites the big one; I will never, ever join Conclave in its current state.

  5. Wow…it impresses me that Notion Ink are finally falling into the stride. Slowly, slowly critical updates are coming in. This is great! 🙂

Keep on going, brothers.. Don’t stop now. There is still a long way to go, and you will reach there. And we will watch you reach there.

  6. Rohan, good to know that you are keeping people happy by analyzing the usage statistics, upgrading to gingerbread and working out the bugs in the genesis UI.

I’m really not happy with Google that they have given priority to Motorola by giving them a headstart over other integrators like Notion Ink. With all this talk about 3D gesture recognition and a new way to do things, I get the feeling Notion Ink is working on its own platform secretly.

In any case, I wish you guys all the best!

  7. Will the UI of the Dolphin Browser be unified with the Eden UI?! Or it would just be bundled as it is ❓

  8. Ahh,

Good news. I have bought a second-hand PQI-Wifi from Germany for my son-in-law. We are waiting for it to arrive by DHL at the moment. He’s hysterically happy to soon brag about it, trashing his friends with iPads that doesnt really work in the sun!

I have added my email to NI pre-orders list a looong time ago, and really hope that I will receive an order invitation email from NI.

I’d like to develop (migrate) an old pet-project of mine to the Android/Eden; I have been a dedicated Cambridge Z88 (vintage 1987!) user for maaany years, and have even made an emulator of that machine – implemented in Java. Search google for ‘Z88’, ‘Sourceforge’ and ‘Z88 wikipedia’, if anybody is interested to know what a Z88 is…

I find that the Adam in design and concept matches what the ideas of portability where back then in 1987… it had loong battery life and using just 4 x AA batteries.. 25h non-stop use, and mono-LCD usable in the sun…

I want to see this app running on the Android, come to life on my future Adam! THe cycle is then complete; I can continue playing with my Z88 on my new Adam! Argh, I am a geek – and probably will always be…

Great times ahead with lots of fun with a new toy..

    Best regards
    Gunther

  9. Wow 2 posts in 2 days that awsome and a tenitive date for update not the 1st or 2nd week support told me but hey its better then others have said

  10. Thanks everyone for inspiring confidence in me to buy the Adam. I’m having tons of fun and getting loads of appreciation from people who see my tablet. I miss my Kindle though…used it every day for the last two years. It was a regular feature of my office lunch room here at Fairfax Media, Auckland. The same people who got bug eyes at the Kindle now look at the Adam and say, “Wow, now what’s THAT.” Makes me proud to be Indian. The only problem is that instead of getting any reading or writing done, I spend my lunch/tea breaks explaining the wonders of this tablet. If my Kindle experience is anything to go by, this phenomenon will last a couple of months.
I wrote this article in exactly 30 mins, in one draft. That’s what inspiration does to a writer.

  11. More and more updates from Notion Ink. This is awesome, exciting !!! Thanks for the update Rohan !

  12. Thats more like it Rohan…. An Update, small or big does not matter… is always appreciated….
Most of us already are using Dolphin and no doubt its the best browser so far i have used on Adam…
    😉

  13. Can you add panel functionality for dolphin browser through which we view mobile version of websites only.
Also for kindle you can add a panel which displays your collection of books…somewhat similar in idea to the honeycomb book widget but of course make yours more sleeker.

  14. Good to see you up the gear since long it’s been in parking mode.

Since i have received my adam in March. Everytime I go and click on check of updates/ UPDATE ADAM, it never reallys updates and always comes back with message Your adam is uptodate. Is it just my device as i never seem to get any update. I am still on original stock version.

  15. From what i have understood the OTA updates have been broken but i thought i read that build 80411 fixed that but not sure so we shall have to wait for this update to find out for sure

  16. Sounds good -I second the question if the new functions will be integrated into eden.

  17. well-written article!
I can not wait for the day when ADAM will be proclaimed the best tablet!

  18. The support has been mentioning in their emails as of yesterday that May 7 th is the next release date. I have proof of it.

  19. WOW Rohan! Two postings in the same week! And great news, not just the browser that I like best (things don’t often match up with my choices!) but an estimate on when we will get the next software update!
I understand why you can’t give us a firm date (If you could it would be now, right?) but I really appreciate the approximation. Gives us an amount of wait time to expect, rather than just some indefinite time in the future.
I hope the update with be OTA for those of us who have been getting flash updates from Support, but if it turns out to be a flash update to get us back on the automatic update trail, I think we can stand to do that one more time. Specially if we get a great browser like Dolphin HD in the update!
Thanks for all the great news. Now I need to go read my latest email from support, and then its back to the grind of every day work aday world.
Thanks again for this wonderful update!!!

  20. I want to thank Rohan for getting help with his written communications. This is another sign of growth not only on the software part but on his part as a leader!

  21. Why not all browsers available! At least Dolphin HD is MUCH better than the previous default browser. You have a better tool to go find the browser you like better.
I know from hearing other Adamites talk about this that there are several other browsers besides Opera that people like for their various features.
And, yes, I saw the happy face, so I’m not criticizing your post, just saying 😉
    Luck,

  22. Kindle already shows the books you have loaded on your home page. I’m not sure I want a side panel to take up screen territory. Going back to the home page if you want a different book to read makes more sense to me…
    Luck,

  23. 3d gesture recognition, I TOLD you that’s what was coming 🙂

  24. Nice. First Kindle app and now Dolphin. Keep them coming. Hey wait a minute, what is that buzzing sound I hear. Its getting louder and louder. Why its a honeybee and its about to sting the Adam. I say/predict May 24th for update to fix bugs and June 20th for honeycomb. But honeycomb would already be out by June 1st due to tableroms development.

  25. What is the point of this? Why is Notion Ink wasting time with stuff like this? Anyone can load Dolphin HD on the Adam. I already tried it and Dolphin HD is painfully slow compared to the Adam’s web browser. What next, you going to announce that GMail will come pre-loaded with all Adam’s.

  26. Next round of order about to start? I’m even more interested since I may have the dubious honour of being the first having my Adam lost or stolen… Currently in Santiago da Compostela after walking the Camino Portugués, and two days ago my Pixel Qi 3G WiFi disappeared from my suitcase between two hotels… Either I left it in the previous room while packing, or it fell when I removed a jumper, and in it’s flashy Targus sleeve somebody might have mistaken it for an iPad… Hasn’t been found anywhere, So I need to buy a replacement very quickly, please NI do you have any spare for a situation like this?

  27. I was close to rooting to Beast, but now I’ll wait and see what’s in this upcoming update. For now I prefer to stay “stock” so I can get a first-hand feel for how NI is progressing in enhancing the Adam. More important to me is how well the updates serve my tablet computing needs.

Thanks for the post Rohan and I’m looking forward to your next post.

  28. My post didn’t go to moderation! Two pieces of good news today.

  29. @dwarf4242 : May 7 was the last date thrown around.. Everyone is assuming that is the date.

  30. Congratulation !

    But +1 for akimol !

Make the Buzzzz tell us more about next PO !

  31. Hi Dale, I’m using Mozilla Firefox, but willing to give Dolphin a chance after the update.

  32. Thank You Rohan
for removing my comment from earlier post ..atleast I come to know you read my comments.

  33. @karen : The current Firefox cannot play Flash yet on Adam, right?

  34. I received my pixel qi/3G Adam about a month ago (roughly) and I am loving it. There are many, many glitches and software issues to be improved; but as I pre-ordered it before its official release, I expected as much. Still, I’m glad to see the updates coming out. I was an early adopter of e-ink technology, and the company that I chose to buy from folded within 2 years, due to software development and customer support

Other than the software glitches (forced closes and other crashes) the Adam is incredible. I like the physical design and related aesthetics. I like the speed and multi-tasking. I really, really like the potential for hacking it and modifying it for our own purposes – excellent choice there NI.

I’ve been using it pretty much non-stop since I got it … it fits my needs exactly as I anticipated. I look forward to more software development, both from NI and from other developers.

  35. hmmm… (loyalty playing up)
Loosing my laptop bookmarks then (grumble)
    But… OK (switching)

  36. I found that the Netfront browser to be better in quality when viewing on TV through HDMI. Has anyone found the same?
In general HDMI output from youtube is not as crisp as VGA output from a laptop. This is disappointing.
Other comparisons: While Dolphin has gestures and slight better ease of use, Netfront has the cool carousal effect for tabs/bookmarks. Also Netfront is still not optimized for Adam’s screen size.

  37. I was posting to say that the NI browser has good features and that has been my default. However I don’t like it limiting the user to 7 or 8 tabs.

  38. Can’t wait to see what the Adam can do with Honeycomb. I got to play with a friends Transformer and it’s pretty amazing.

  39. Rohan, my thanks and apreciation for the attempt to remain relevant in the overall tablet market but there is so much new and exciting being announced by the big boys giving us, as has been mentioned by many, what we have allready side loaded, and not adressing the real issues that have to be dealt with, relevancy might not be achievable. A new Kindle, Asus with a slew of tablets + an Nvidia quad4 all coming out later this year time, opportunity and customers and their good will has been squandered. I still love my Adam PQ and await to see what the A2 will be offering, hopefully with better PQ screen an specs before I jump; so pls , a little more agressiveness.

  40. 3D gesture detection…
Rohan you opened Pandora’s box, blog post explaining this NOW!!!
    😉

  41. Rohan listened to the need of the user. Good to see the improvement of software flowing through.
But I think Rohan has yet to reveal his innovating feature to the adam.. even more important than the upgrade to Honeycomb (yes.. i said more important than Honeycomb)

The starting point for all adam users.. Genesis

  42. It is nice to see the blog active again but what does the Kindle/dolphin hd posts really give us vs just installing the app ourselves? Those apps were already working and available plenty of un-official markets.

Looking forward to the technical posts. Hope one of them includes the mystery feature(Radio) being activated.

  43. Dolphin HD
    1. Why does the font size change buttons (+/- in lower right of screen) not show up on mobile sites?
    2. When I scroll, it frequently changes font size instead. Need a button for 1 page scrolling.

    Mark

  44. Im glad to see these post but give it up, how about this blog StephenH is boss, he’s saving our a$$ making honeycombe a reality, also thank you MrGuy for making it boot.

  45. I think they’re trying to appeal to the regular customer who won’t have the time or know-how (despite how simple it is) to do this themselves.

Also, it would be awesome if gmail was bundled, as that would mean they have complete access to Google’s software suite — including the market 😉

  46. Good news everhwhere. Glad to see NI doing some progress on this front. Now I w ill be glad if the same mind of improvement is madeon the support front…. Sorry Rohan had to say it…..

On the honeycomb front a lot of progress has been made by the previosly known as A-team

  47. Having DolphinHD Pre-packaged isn’t a bad idea. I haven’t had many problems with it. Finger swiping/zooming is a lot smoother than other browsers which is good.

Now, if Firefox 4 got their mobile version working with flash out of the box, that’d be nice too. >_>

  48. Talking of Dolphin HD and flash, if you see the output in HDMI, it is very much pixelatedly distracting. I am comparing this with the Netfront Browser. I cant help saying this but the HDMI output from Dolphin is very poor compared to Netfront Browser
(I am using Adam daily since I got it, for steaming from Youtube to HDMI output)

  49. I think I may be the first to post this, but…

    PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE

Do not make these applications non-removable by the user! I don’t care if they’re default browser when you click “Browser”. I don’t care if they’re installed on startup…

But PLEASE, give the user the ability to remove the software if they choose to! Do not lock in applications that the user may not want to use — especially with a current 2GB application space; a tablet can theoretically use a lot more that that!

My Nexus One is already using over 500-600MB for 140ish apps, and that’s because I had to remove a ton of them due to space constraints. I didn’t want to move to SD because I want to be able to swap out the SD while maintaining complete access to my applications — plus people complain about shovelware in the comments of said applications.

  50. Congrats rohan for one more milestone. Waiting for more from you.

Its very hard to think that ADAM will have software choke-ups in the latest version. Hope it does not. I waiting for the invite though. And hopefully ADAM does not disappoint me with any of the bugs present in the previous version.

HoneyComb will be awesome!!! and creating applications on honeycomb will be an exciting challenge.

  51. For me personally, the best news is, is that a new round of orders is about to commence… I got my invite last time, but was unable to complete my order because Mastercard wasn’t accepted…
Trust me, I’ve tried *very hard* to find an alternative, but thus far, there is no other tablet that meets my requirements..

  52. woah!!!…seems like NI’s been burning the midnight oil….three updates in a span of 2 weeks….keep ’em coming…..i’m lovin it 🙂

  53. I dont think you will lose them. Like for example I use chrome on my laptop. With google account i can see the same bookmarks on every laptop. But Chrome is not available for Android yet. But wait. there is chrome bookmarks application which import all ur bookmark to ur adam and it also sync your adam boomarks back to laptop’s chrome. 🙂

I hope there must be a similar app for Mozilla too

  54. browser menu down appears a little cut off on my adam. But I am able to use the menu.

  55. Friends…I just found a new apk – SWPE…saw in a friend’s Samsung phone and searched it on the net.

    Download from “http://www.mediafire.com/?omkzmr0dxo2”

    Enjoy!

  56. Is there any setting to be done to see flash on Dolphin HD browser? I am on stock and i can not see youtube stuff. But with Skyfire I do not have any issues.

  57. Can you please tell me what Adam has but other tablets do not have? BTW, I am a staunch supporter of Adam.

  58. Yes, Honeycomb is very nice idd. Big improvement on android’s os.

  59. Alright, I am done with waiting for you for over a year now! I give up!

No more Adam for me, no matter how much crooning the current Adam owners exhibit, for all iPad owners exhibit the same.

There have been no requests for orders in a long time. I checked my email 2 days after I’d received and invite to be in second tranche of orders and did not make it. I was asked to request another invite and then a survey was sent as to which kind I would like. But you know what, keep it. I am sick and tired of waiting for a product that was cool a year and a half ago when the first videos of the proof of concept came out. Now, I don’t care.

Thank you, for I will go buy myself a cheap laptop/netbook/iPad2(not terribly too expensive and available vs Adam).

    Thanks a lot!

  60. @hitchkay pre orders are around the corners. so If you wait a bit , please do the same. With Honeycomb I think you may not rue the wait 🙂

  61. In two words, Pixel Qi.

I’ve been on the lookout for something that could function both as an e-reader and as a computer for nearly 10 years now… I’ve always been something of an early adopter, in fact, back in 2000, I occasionally used my Ericsson (not Sony ~) Touchscreen smartphone as an e-reader.

I’ve always felt that e-readers should encompass touchscreen technology, with a refresh rate equalling that of a PC. And for computers to be used for hours on end, to use passive reflectivity.
Now, one gadget that met those requirements was/is the Entourage, and originally I was rooting for its release. But when it finally hit the market, and after reading the specs, I realised that this was not the penultimate amalgamation of two worlds, but rather two machines rather clunkily stuck together.

The iPad doesn’t cut it, either: active lighting. Same applies to the Kno etc.

I don’t care for the entire Linux vs OSX vs Windows debate (anymore). In the end, it’s all 6 of one, and half a dozen of the other. In this day and age, it’s the technology that best matches my biology, that’ll be the winner: multi-touch, capacitive, reflective, to name but a few relevant adjectives.

At any rate, for me it’s a matter of 3rd time lucky, I hope. The 1st time, I couldn’t order because I didn’t register when leaving a comment, the second time, I think I logged on 5 mins after receiving my e-mail but found myself unable to complete my order (Mastercard).

But who knows, maybe next time, I can speak from experience??

  62. I just hope the NI browser does not go away. I use both because they each handle certain sites better. For instance Dolphin is horrible on the site for The Independent but the NI browser handles it beautifully.

  63. You know what? Actually, I believe I deserve it – NI appeared on my radar long before it became a hype, and I’ve followed it patiently, allowing for whatever glitches and hiccoughs Murphy threw at it.
I’d love to be able to read and review my articles without killing a tree every other week…

  64. Yes , NI browser is good at rendering many sites . better than all the rest I have tried. But it also get screwed with certain pages ( like drop down options etc ..)

I guess NI-browser + dolphin is very close to wholesome. Actually the same holds good for Keyboard.

  65. Agree with @androidposts… It would indeed be a big deal if Gmail (Gapps) would come preloaded… It would mean it is a Google device….

  66. Guys do please check Wave Launcher out. It is free today on Amazon Appstore. This is a cool app that gives you a transparent waveform launcher that you can call from anywhere and any app. No more going back to the first screen to launch an app. It works really well with the Adam.

  67. Well I am looking forward to hearing what you mean by “official news on Honeycomb”!

  68. @Rogerrdb,
Thanks for the explanation. Even though the colors are not so vibrant, I too have opted for Pixel Qi just for the option of reading in (outdoor) daylight.

  69. My 2 cents …
The good thing about adam hardware is that it has unique look, design & value proposition. Added to that the long term commitment from NotionInk (assumed) would mean that it will have a far longer shelf life than the look-alike tablets .Most of the tablets in market are competing with some petty, bleeding-edge hardware differentiations .

That said , Adams software would decide its success. Do you guys think that NI can have two parallel ecosystems on Adam ?
    1. tightly integrated eden running on gingerbread with genesis apps. This will be NI’s take on user-experience.
    2. Pure Google Honeycomb . This will be google’s take on user experience

User could be given an easy, officially supported flashing method for swapping the ROM. I think that would appeal to a broad user base.NI can observer the adoption rates & tune its investment accordingly.

    wishful but not impossible.

  70. I wonder when does NI plan to release Adam or Pre-order 3 ?? We hear a lot but now we need to see one!!!!

  71. thanks @hvenky . I am loving it.
have to be careful to decide which side to place the bar. I am using dxTop launcher which uses the corners and bottom. Also we have to be aware that the wave launcher bar may cover some parts of the keybord-on-screen. One more thing is that if I started the launcher accidentally, it is not easy to ‘let go’.

  72. Wow So much silence !!!!

On a different note: Honeycomb port is going great on Tabletroms ….. I hope most of you are following that!

  73. As my nickname states: Long long time ago I requested release date in July 2010. Now we have May 2011 and there’s still no possibility to buy an Adam in a shop.

How long do you want to wait? Do you want to sell it to museums?

  74. In one of Interview Rohan told that indian will not get Adam in next pre-order…. Just want to inform Rohan that it is right time time to enter in Indian Market as corporates are entering in exclusive contract with apple for I Pad. Many of corporate have plan to buy ipad for their sales force….. Rohan should make effort to make it available in India….

  75. Which mystery feature?
The so called “mystery feature” was just a ghost haunting through the NI castle for several month. Last week it disappeared and I suspect that it will never come back.

  76. It’s not that NI does not want to sell in India, in fact they sold ADAM there at first but they had troubles with the customs making the process very difficult and long, so they decided to give up.

  77. now this is something …..
    HONEYCOMB on ADAM
great developers at tabletROM got honeycomb working on ADAM……
not working to the fullest but still …..

  78. Google Developers in San Francisco Tue and Wed 10th and 11th. Watch on Google Live today and tomorrow.

    LeoP

  79. Nothing to do with anything but just finished a freeby from Amazon Kindle “Soft Apocalypse” and allthough slow and a 1st novella, I found it memorable and haunting.

  80. It’s interesting that with all the hype from Pixelqi about “many tablets” with the PQ screen forth coming nothing has shown todade. Even Endgaget claimed to have looke at a slew of Pq tablets at CES 2010 and was high on a model fron Innoversal and Mary Joe Jepsen was everywhere talking PQ up. Except for the NotionInk Adam, which I have heard they (PQ) have been bad mouthing out in San Francisco, Has anyone heard from their founder or any one recently talk about their product? I would expect to hear as much, if not more, negative press about that and a little more apreciiation for NI for putting out, even if flawed, a product that no one else has bothered with. Yes as insiders we can and are critical of NI and Rohan buut let’s put it in context. Let’s hear it Mary Lou Jepsen, Where have you and pixelQi disapeared to? Where is all this increased capacity? Where are all of these improved screens? And why have you not talked up the only company that has featured your product. If anyone is at fault it is you for not providing NI with a better screen; who are you saving them for?

  81. Putting Notion Ink aside, you are correct, Where is Mary Joe and where are all these tablets that are suppose to have the Pixel Qi. At least NI has improved in terms of providing a forum for discussion, but Pixel Qi hasn’t posted in their blog for months and there is no insight what so ever of what they are planning or whom may have the newer displays. Now i wonder, if you do not have a Pixel Qi Adam and just a regular LCD one. Who makes that screen?

    TS

  82. @2spirits, I have the PQ,3g and that is what brought the Adam to my attention + the hardware. Now I am hoping that sooner thanlater NI will come out with an A2 with a better PQ screen and functionality. I gige Rohan & NI a lot of ups for what they have acomplished and even if as reported Asus comes out with a quad4 tablet in the fall, unless it features a PQ or similar technology scree, I would not give in to temptation but wait to see what Rohan does.

  83. @2Spirits, talking about Blogs; you have 2 give special credt 2 Rohan for starting and staying with this blog; eventhough WordPress has got to be at the deepest bottom of the functionality pile. As we have all seen a blog brings out the best and the worst in people. It’s no wonder that he has stepped aside once in awhile. Andy @ notioninkhhacks, now tabletroms.com, has commented on how rude, and undeserved, some of the coments he received over there were. No one else has dared to do what Rohan is attempting to pull off; which I imagine he has at times considered a nightmare. But then again thats the beauty of an openblog, we can all express our individualitise.es; and for that Rohan deserves major call outs.

  84. You are talking to the choir, which is why I’ve said put NI to the side and talked about Mary Joe/Pixel Q and agree with you on the points you made. As for Notion Ink, they will get over these problems and hopefully win back some of those that have given up on them. But only if they really do what is right and fix current issues. True, alot of these problems besides the hardware issues are not of their doing. Not enough displays, marketing mishaps, distribution issues, investors, Google etc. Its bad enough for a company thats been in business for a long time, even harder for a startup. Hopefully they will get through this and learn to correct their mistakes. The device itself has potential even among the onslaught of new devices coming out. But Google isn’t helping them and its up to us the community of modders, programmers at tableroms to try to make the device the best it can be.

Notion Ink may have started its sights on Adam 2, but again, Adam 1 still needs nurturing.
    TS

  85. that is what i mean to say…. do not give up and make it available in India……. I will love to see adam in Indian retail shop……..

  86. Google announced some amazing stuff at I/O.
Honeycomb dev now released, includes USB controlling including all sorts of devices, also Project Tungsten, which allows you to control things in your home, like music systems and even lights. Check out androidpolice for details. Its a cool world we’re moving in to.

  87. @Philip, I wanted so badly for the Adam to be my key to that future, Now all my hopes are with Andy and the guys at Tabletroms.com and fingers crossed and nocking on wood for this forthcoming NI update.

  88. @primarycloud
Yeah, but the way I see it we’re going to get the best of both worlds.

I think the guys at tabletroms are amazing. Basically in their spare time, and in the most excellent collaboration, they have cracked the holy honeycomb grail and this will very quickly result in vanilla flavoured honeycomb for adam, and in the meantime NI is working on stabilising eden for us over gingerbread.

I love that we have choices, something apple will never give (sorry did I type that out loud?)

I hope that the new update is able to be rooted using hacks original root+market, and I will be HAPPY !!!

So if you want eden, go NI, if you want honeycomb, go Hacks, but NI will eventually produce Honeycomb eden for us, and again I say “Rohan what do you mean by official announcements about honeycomb?”

I personally have been loving eden, even in what I consider its currently beta form, but then again what’s not to love about beast rom from what I hear.

Despite some very negative comments I am quite happy with my adam, I use it every day, its my email, my posts, my tweets, my rss news feeds, my book reader, my bible, my banking, and my browsing. I feel that tablet technology isn’t quite there when it comes to intensive document work so my office software is still pc based, but we’re getting there 🙂

    Peaceout adamfreaks

  89. Connecting ADAM to a non-HD TV and a VGA projector. Got two solutions that worked really well for me, check them out here:

  90. @ Philip, I am impressed, I haven’t reached that plateu but working at it. I am sticking with Eden as that was what I bought into and want to maintain that connection. As an aside, I visited the Conclave and was dissapointed so I am hoping that thheu keep this blog on line.

  91. Omg!! They removed the mystery feature from the techspecs page…
So no more mystery feature huh?

  92. Yep, I think I read either here or on Conclave that the mystery feature, the FM radio, was never intended for ADAM 1 but only for ADAM 2. So they just removed it.

  93. Installed HC 10th build from tablet rom. Though BEast 2.2.1 was amazing. Kinda start liking the Honeycomb:)

  94. Yo!, hows everyone?

    🙂

Been a long time since i commented here so thought wud just let all know that i have been really busy with my adam and am loving it. Its still on stock eden with vtl launcher.
I have had no issues with force closures till now and everything is working fine..even the camera is pretty good!. so all in all its been a pretty satisfying purchase for me. already have kindle, dolphin etc on it so these updates wont be that great for me, but im looking forward to the gingerbread update and then eventually honeycomb.

    fingers crossed!
    Adios Amigos.

  95. hey guyz i managed to cosmetically enhance my adam to make it similar to honeycomb
will soon upload the video and instructions
BUT BEWARE YOU NEED A LOT OF PATIENCE..

  96. Here it is
    Follow this thread”http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052937″
and set the wallpaper with sniffer

  97. Hi Rohan,
I’m typing this on my Adam. I use it every day for my interviews and people are clearly impressed. However, today a colleague showed me his iPad and I was impressed! The book app is fantastic as is the display. Improving the display should be your first priority.
More colours would be good too.

  98. has anyone tried tethering Adam to a phone’s(smart or nonsmart) data plan. (Most of the tethering discussions I have seen here are on tethering your phone to get data from Adam)

  99. “http://www.amazon.com/The-Pill-Tree-Chalk-Ball/dp/B004TNHSKY”

this game is free from Amazon today 😀

    nice simple li’l game…enjoy 🙂

  100. @ Mehdi,

FM radio is very much the feature of ADAM1. The only thing is its no more a mystery feature, as literally everyone knows it by now. Also, in all probabilities, FM radio will work once the new UPDATE comes up, expected in the third week of May.

On another thought, why would they remove the mystery feature just because it was not for Adam1? While, all this while, it was on the website when Adam1 was doing the rounds! Wierd?

    Cheers.

  101. Yeah it is weird, but I’m just repeating what I read on the forums. Some people even claimed they had received mails from NI support telling them what I wrote above about the mystery feature (FM radio, meant for ADAM2).

I wonder why you think the FM radio is going to be activated with the next update ? I know it is strange to consider that NI kept the mystery feature on the page for so long, but did they not change the screens specifications w/o any notice as well (matte and anti-glare screen screen protector) ?

I think that if the the FM radio were still in, they would have unveiled it, not deleted from the page as it is the case now. It does not appear anywhere anymore.

  102. Here, check this thread “http://tabletroms.com/forums/showthread.php?364-Bonus-mystery-feature-gone&highlight=mystery+feature”

They are working diligently based on your donations. Want to see honeycomb finished faster? click the donate link at the top of the site. Donations go straight to getting honeycomb on the adam.

  104. Sorry, forgot to link wiki on Adam Honeycomb development
    “http://tabletroms.com/forums/showwiki.php?title=NotionInkAdamFAQ:Guide_Honeycomb_Update_Log&redirect=no”

Also, keep in touch with us on this new forum. It has many new features and has places to discuss all things android for most devices. Many of us are about to get our transformer tablets and will begin discussing these soon.

  105. No need for this if you follow us here, we are about to release honeycomb for the adam. Possibly weeks away. “http://tabletroms.com/forums/showthread.php?356-Honeycomb-on-the-Adam-(Updated)”

  106. I repeat what i said back on may 6th…
I say/predict May 24th for update to fix bugs and June 20th for honeycomb. But honeycomb would already be out by June 1st due to tableroms development.

But if it comes sooner, I won’t complain. lol

  107. New flash version 10.3 is out, check details. Here:
    conclave.notionink.com/showthread.php?312-Tips-for-NEW-USERS-who-do-NOT-wish-to-Root

  108. hey ive been following dat since almost a week but no harm doing this for passing time…[coz my holidayz are goin on]…but still i agree the speed at which they are goin we might get a stable rom in 2 weeks itself…their collaboration is surely gonna pay off..:)

  109. Why is the company like a dormant volcano? No news lately, no updates.. 😦 It’s like the only spokesperson and mouthpiece or outlet of the company is Rohan himself. Keep someone who is dedicated with the role of a spokesperson.

Besides these random posts are a bit tiring. And its equally frustrating that we ‘fans’ have to tend to the negative criticism coming from the other side of the market regarding the tablet and the company has nothing to talk/boast about equally. 😦 Kinda disappointing. I feel like I am losing myself on this… 😦 Sorry.

  110. I understand Google is beeing a real pain about Honeycomb… Has there been any improvement on that front? It seems Honeycomb will not get a kernel release and we will have to wait for ice cream sandwitch to get an actual update to a real OS. Will NI get access to normal Honeycomb?

P.S. I really appreciate the input Notion Ink contributes to Tabletroms effort in Honeycomb question. Until there is success, let’s enjoy our tablets. I really wish Luck to all those who have not yet gotten an adam and my support to Notion Ink.

  111. Hi all,
I am still following adam. Have my name in for an invite. I’ll see what improvements come up. So far it still is only tablet with Pixel Qi, although Amazon is rumored to be coming out with one. In mean time I am using a Cruze Reader. I am having a wifi problem and hope one of you might have a suggestion.

My problem is I am in a campground that does have a very strong wifi with open access, but requires one to go to a welcome page and click on “free…” inorder to get to the internet. My laptop goes to that page automatically or by typing 192.168.17.1. My Cruz connects to the wifi fine, but does not go to the welcome page nor will it find 192.168.17.1. I have tried several browsers, including browser and Dolphin HD. I have latest rom on the Cruz. Thank you in advance for any suggestions. Paul

  112. i am running hc13 of honeycomb …. works well … still interested in NI’s Eden interface plan … there needs to be something beyond widgets imho

  113. Paul that could be a lack of script support with your cruz device. What os version are you using on the Cruz, pm on tabletroms or XDA-developers -my name is well… Daiuton

  114. It looks like A1 will (should) never get official honeycomb . Ni should leave Android 3.x porting to hackers & concentrate on 2.4 + eden . They can then release official IceCream later this year & by that time they would have got enough code-base & feedback from the un-official 3.x users. That would mean far less time & energy wasted on support issues.

  115. Dear Rohan,
I intend to buy a tablet this week.
If you give us some details of exactly when I’ll be able to, it might be an Adam. If not it’ll be an Asus transformer.

  116. Hi Paul,
Maybe you have used a static IP setting on your cruz earlier and the settings have not been reset.. If there is a stored IP on your cruz, no matter which wifi you connect to, the cruz will always want that IP address and since your ip address would not be in the same range ie. 192.168.xx.xx, it won’t connect to the home page.

Try going into Settings > Wireless & networks > Wifi settings.
I don’t know now how u get the options but if u know then click on options and select advanced settings.
If “Use Static IP” is checked. then uncheck it.
Then try connecting again to your wifi network.
    That might work.

  117. Hi all,
In case any of you interested then check out these screenshots of my adam here :

I have it rooted but still on stock rom.

    regards,

  118. assuming all are wifi tethering. I tried bluetooth and usb. Did not work.
So I had to use 2G(AT&T) by putting my simcard(my 3G module is non-US. So i guess thats why I’ll get only 2G).
Since I dont have a wifi option, I wanted to see if any got bluetooth or USB tethering working on Adam.

  119. @madamimadam81: Your Adam is amazing. I simply love the way you are treating your Adam. Thank you very much for keeping us posted.

  120. Hi Levpius,
Thanks for the compliment, I spent a lot of time finding the things i liked on the net. For the screenshots, i used an app called Screenshot ER (ver.1.0.78)…It was free on the market before but now i can only see the paid one…however a quick search on google for it with “apk” added will reveal a lot of downloads available..if you want it let me know, i will mail it to you..easier for you then…its only a few kbs so shouldnt take long…Lemme know your email if you want the apk.
    cheers!

  121. @Boybarbados, And while we are asking, where is the promised update? The latest from Amazon on their new tablet —

“The higher-end model is codenamed ‘Hollywood’ and will run on the NVIDIA T30 “Kal-El” quad-core processor. That quad-core processor is a 500% boost in performance from the dual-core Tegra 2 and should all the other specs in display, cameras, UI, and overall build align just right, not to mention Amazon’s edge on pricing, this would certainly blow away the competition. And with a schedule of hitting before year end, we may likely see these two slates just in time for the holidays.” Now if as rumored, it has a Mirasol screen and can be rooted then all bets would be off and it would be a new ballgame.

  122. Thanks, twospirits and Himanshu! I now gave up any hope that my Adam will be found and have asked customer support if I can buy maybe of these devices which were sent back, allegedly… but sadly I was told I have to wait for the third round of orders (and we know it’s a few weeks after that)…

  123. I get the feeling that this blog is dying in favour of tabletroms.com?

First Honeycomb alphas being produced over there, so emphasis has naturally moved over there.

Also, and this is really annoying, Mr Steve Jobs has pointed out the “less than 100 android tablet apps” against the 65,000 Ipad apps!

Google need to release ALL relevant code NOW to get developers developing!!!

And ROHAN we need an update on your next visions for us Adam pioneers?

  124. So strange this “Greg” thing.

Had plenty to say before but my gut feeling is no positive at all.

  125. Hey Rohan,

You Said that May and June is going to be busy….

“Along with some more good and importantly official news on Adobe Products, Honeycomb, More App and projects, May and June is going to keep everyone very busy.”

    Are there any new updates??

  126. I want to thank those who replied. I am on Android 2.0. I tried to get on tabletroms, but it considers me a spammer. I have send 2 clarifying messages, but no luck. I was able to check my IP setting, it was not static. Cruz company thinks it might be a problem with the wifi card and are suposed to send me an RMA #. I’ll see. It’s interesting that I can connect to the wifi ok, but that is far as it goes. Wonder if it could be an android glitch? Again thanks.

  127. If anyone is having problems logging into tabletroms.com and posting it is because you are trying to post links on your first few posts just like a spammers. Contact me directly and I will help u out

  128. Acrobits Softphone with..(hold your breath) a G729 Codec!

    hey all,

Came across and downloaded the 3CX acrobits voip softphone with a G729 codec!.
If any of you need it, mail or notify me..i will send it to you by email…the file size is about 2.71 MB…

    About G.729
this codec can be used for making voip calls in limited bandwidth or slow connections. the codec costs about $10 to buy officially. 😉

    instructions :
download the apk and sideload install as normal…does not require root for the app to work. however, do not go to Settings > addons or it will disable the g.729 codec.

    adios amigos
    😀

  129. Hey Kirtan, send it to me please. You know my email.
Did you say you had it work on Adam?

  130. Levpius,
Have sent you it on your mail.any app that I post about here will always be tested or used by me b4 I post about it.im using it regularly with a voip provider called localphone.com to call home to india.my rig’s internet connection is only 256kbps but I still manage to get clear voice using this app…so go ahead, configure your voip provider on it n use it… 🙂

    Thanks in advance! 🙂

  133. i have been trying to get Adam from the beginning but couldn’t make it yet. still waiting for next round of orders, but i really find this asus ee pad transformer amazing device like Adam, im in a dilemma whether to buy Asus transformer or NI Adam in next order. it doesnt have 3G or Pqi, but its awsome!

this device is also sold out and all but its available in some parts of the world and with adam we dont know when is the next release gonna happen.
im in real confusion can some one comment on this? Adam owners please compare this device with adam and suggest me

  134. hi there,
On the link you provided, the specs sound pretty awesome…but i have a friend who was interested in this and he says they completely changed the specs by the time it was out in the market… i dont know whether he was referring to this particular model, but he did say it was an asus transformer. From what i see and read…here are what i feel are the positive and negative points :

    1) Battery life : On ly battery life with the docking station is claimed as 16 hours.without it..its 9.5 hours. I have gotten 20-24 hours battery usage from adam with normal usage..ie a few hours with wifi, a couple of house on 3G, watching one movie, listening to music for 1-2 hours and just general gaming, etc for a couple of hours…in between putting it in sleep mode or standby…i am not saying all adams get that much..maybe i got a good piece..i dont know…but u will surely get 9.5 hours on a full charge from adam too.

    2) Lets face it tablets are meant mainly for ease of carrying. If they are going to give a big docking station which converts it to a laptop, then whats the point.and maybe everybody does not need the keyboard…just a docking station..so why should they pay extra for something they dont need?

    3) there’s only one audio jack, one mini hdmi and 1 card reader slot on the tablet itself. the usb ports are on the docking station which again makes it necessary to have the docking station with you all the time..even if all you want to do is watch movies off your hard drive.

    4) The price you will pay to purchase 2 hardware components will be way higher than just for one tablet. you can expect to pay atleast double of the adam’s price

    5) Memory is good. 16gb and 32gb will ensure good storage for you

6)Screen seems to be better than the adam’s but only time and reviews will tell really.

    7) I can’t see a power charging slot anywhere on the tablet?!! maybe i m being stupid and its probably there somewhere on the tablet, but i hope they havent been stupid enough to have that only on the dock too!..

hope this helps you in making a decision…again..i dont have a real transformer to review..im just going by your link and what i read there….whatever doubts and questions came to my mind, i have put them here.

    regards

  135. Man, that would be devastating to me.
Since I got my adam I stayed with the stock rom and am quite happy with it.

I use Launcher Pro and SwipePad. The combination provides real good usability. I can access Launcher Pro and a lot of other important apps through SwipePad and my home button still directly brings me to adam’s homescreen or the panelchooser (which I unfortunately don’t use very often because of the lack of panel-apps).

ZDbox is another app that I quite essential for me.
The app and its widgets are really handy for administrating apps and settings.

    cheers
    everybody

  136. Hi,

You should check out tabletroms.com, you’ll find there a Transformer forum. They can help you and give you advice.

    1) Battery Life ?
I don’t know whether madamimadam81 got a special piece or not, but there is NO WAY i got 9.5 hours out of my ADAM after a full charge. I am using Beast ROM, airplane mode on, and I can barely reach 6-7 hours of web browsing on WiFi, no video, few gaming…

    2) Ease of carrying ?
Well the TF is first of all lighter than the ADAM. The strain that carrying ADAM causes on your hands can be painful after some time.
Secondly, it is true that not everybody needs the keyboard. Then don’t buy it. Nothing forces you to. If it is the lack of USB port that disturbs you, you can find a mini-USB adapter. Personally I think the docking keyboard IS what makes the device. It is perfectly portable as you can close it and carry it like a laptop and makes typing far more intuitive. The extra ports are useful and the extra battery is great. You have a close to laptop experience with this (of course the weight increases).

    3) cf. 2)

    4) The TF itself is priced 399$, which is cheaper than the ADAM. It is true that purchasing the keyboard adds 150$, but 450$ is pretty close to ADAM’s price, not the double (and again, nothing forces to buy the docking station with the TF).

    5) The TF memory (16 or 32 GB) is by far more than ADAM (5 GB). You might not need 32 GB, but 5 GB can be rapidly filled.

    6) The screen on the TF is by far better than the LCD ADAM. The viewing angles are better, it is more crispy. Now it depends on whether you plan on using your tablet indoor or outdoor. The PQi ADAM offers the great possibility to use outside in day light without any reflection on the screen. You do not have that with the TF (or the LCD ADAM).

    7) I think the TF can be charged either using the docking station or through the mini-USB port.

Overall I would say that it mostly depends on the use you plan of doing of your tablet. If you want to use it outdoor or in direct day light for reading for instance, the PQi screen of the ADAM is better. If you plan on using indoor (or if you live like me in Norway), then my guess would be that the TF is better. It has a better screen and more importantly Honeycomb (with the 3.1 coming up in early June)!! The keyboard is a great plus if you want to use your tablet as a laptop, it does not make it impossible to carry around.

I hope this helps. You might have the feeling that I push you towards the TF, it is not the case. You should be aware that a lot of tablets are available or going to hit the market soon (Acer Iconia Tab, Samsung Galaxy 10.1 and 8.9, Toshiba Regza, even the Sony or Amazon Tabs) you might want to wait and see.

    Regards,
    Mehdi

  137. Hi Mehdi,

Thanks for your input on this, now useit4me has more points to make his decision. like you said rightly, it highly depends on the use case scenario from person to person.. personally i dont find the need for a keyboard all that much..if i did i would just as well have gone for a laptop seeing they have more ports, dvd drives, etc on em. but to each his own. dwelling on your point where u said the keyboard IS what makes the device, i am saying exactly..without the keyboard its not a very different tablet…honeycomb will officially or unofficially but definitely come to the Adam too.

about battery life..im getting pretty decent battery life.i ordered in the march PO2 preorder.maybe something was changed in that . I wonder if you use a mini usb reader on the asus, would the tablet itself be able to power a big HDD with a rotating disc inside? even if it could it would affect the battery life quite a bit. what do you say?

thanks for letting me know about the price..i honestly dint know the price at all..but i believe there is no 3G variant for the transformer currently..so unless u r in a wifi zone, there would be no internet access (ofcourse..i guess some sort of tethering with a cellphone might be possible)

I believe when they say 16 and 32 gb , you wont get as much just as in the adam as some part of the memory will be used for the OS, etc. However for the price that you quoted, it definitely is a better deal in that area.

cheers and hopefully useit4me will benefit from this discussion and spend his hard earned money atleast on any one tablet 😀 the way i heard it at CES there are going to be over 1100 tablets of different makes and models launched this year…so useit4me….you have got a lot of choices if you are willing to wait my friend! 🙂

    regards,

  138. Hi madamimadam81

    > I wonder if you use a mini usb reader on the asus, would the tablet itself be able to power a big HDD with a rotating disc inside? even if it could it would affect the battery life quite a bit. what do you say?

You might be right, i wonder whether a mini-USB port is capable of providing enough juice for a big HDD. But again, would you use a big HDD with the tablet on a plane for instance ? It is not very convenient, is it ? Even so, the keyboard being not that big, you might be able to connect it to the HDD.

    > I believe when they say 16 and 32 gb , you wont get as much just as in the adam as some part of the memory will be used for the OS, etc.

The 32 GB actually has something like 27 GB of available storage. The memory used by the image and so on is equivalent to the whole ADAM memory :-). It is also true that there is no 3G TF yet, I guess it’s on the way.

    Regards,
    Mehdi

  139. >>4) The TF itself is priced 399$, which is cheaper than the ADAM. It is true that purchasing the keyboard adds 150$, but 450$ is pretty close to ADAM’s price, not the double (and again, nothing forces to buy the docking station with the TF).

    Just pointing out a small typo : 399$ + 150$ = 549$

  140. Guys have you checked this “http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/19/logitech-outs-a-pair-of-keyboard-cases-gets-into-the-tablet-acc/”

ROhan said they patented lotsof things and grip being the one. And now everyone doing the cop logitech being the latest. IS NotionInk awake?

  141. Looking to sell my Adam (LCD, Wifi only) for $350. Let me know if anyone would be interested in. Can ship with in US (Shipping $15 – USPS). With in New Jersey, can hand deliver (prefer)

I received in PO2 (March 14th) and have been using it from then on daily. NO hardware issues found. Can add 2 screen protectors.

If any one interested mail me at rajendra gmail.

  142. I think the diff. could be grip on a tablet and grip on accessory. Patents are hard to defend if minor things change.

  143. No, it’s dying because it’s not interesting any more to read it.

The last 2 posts of NI tells us what others do for the Adam. Nothing new about the progress of NI itself. Only announcements, no progress, no facts.

Since I have my Adam I wait for honeycomb. I know, it’s not the fault of NI. First I thought honeycomb is less important for me. But if you look at the NI home page, what do you ascertain?

DEVELOPERS, SUPPORT, SOFTWARE, GENESIS: No progress since many month.

The only thing that changed there is that this ridiculous “mysterious feature” disappeared.

On 20th November 2010 Rohan told us: “Genesis is up and Running!” What a farce!

  144. Rather surprised that nothing much has happened. I’ve been under the weather for a week and it looks like no time has passed here. Maybe the “Notify me of follow-up comments via email.” check box will start working and i will still not get any email 😉
Finally got 3.x working on my test machine, sort of. Looks a bit like my Asus Transformer. Even sees the wireless network signal strength as “Fair” instead of “Poor” the way the Adam default system does.
    Anyone else having fun?
levpius, did I mind my words?
    Waiting is,

  145. So, where do you get one? All I can find are the pictures, not a place to actually buy one…

  146. You have missed several things:
    1. You can get the transformer without the docking station and in sleep mode you get several days on the charge.
    2. While the screen is not Pixel Qi it is very visible under direct sunlight.
    3. Even with the docking station installed it is easier to carry than the Asus eee laptop, and the docking station protects the screen for carrying without a case.
    4. Honeycomb is awesome and everything just works.
    Luck,

  147. sorry if you felt offended by my remark. But that was for topspnr who had taken a personal swipe at me. yes IMO you did mind your words 🙂

  148. FlexT9 Input from Nuance Dragon.

    Speak.Trace.Write.Tap.

That’s right guys, i have the apk now for FlexT9 from Nuance Dragaon, the world renowned company, known for its speech recognition programs. The flexT9 is a 4-in-1 keyboard which recognises speech (requires internet), works like swype, recognises gesture based typing and normal tap typing. If any of you need it..you know the procedure.

  149. The update will be released on the 21st from what was said here
    “http://tabletroms.com/forums/showthread.php?642-New-Stock-Rom-Gingerbread”
so we will see was waiting moderation

  150. Seems like it’s open for preorder on Logitech website:
    – “http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/keyboards/keyboard/devices/tablet-keyboard-ipad” for the iPad version
    – “http://www.logitech.com/en-us/tablet-accessories/for-android/devices/tablet-keyboard-android?WT.ac=ps|8274” for the Android one ;-).
I am a bit concerned about the stand, the ADAM being wider than the iPad or XOOM, do you think it will fit in (see the pics on the website)?

  151. OK my bad, I just noticed that the stand is actually adjustable, it should fit for the ADAM then.

  152. Not offended at all! Just trying to understand the many friends I have made here. Sorry to have poked at a sore spot. I hadn’t realized what was going on…my normal socially clueless state 😉
    Luck

  153. So how many of you are eagerly waiting for the much advertised update. Also anyone think we will get the update tomorrow. I mean third week of may ends tomorrow. Hoping the update to gingerbread blows us away.

  154. Rohan,
i keep coming on here hoping that you have not let us all down again, but you always seem to achieve just that.

Don’t keep telling us you are going to do something then go all quiet and do not update us all.
I have been one of your greatest supporters, but even i am getting weary with all the promises broken.

  155. The day ain’t over yet.
Neither did the world come to its end today (at least not here in the Netherlands) 😉

My Adam came in handy the other day btw. I made a live twitter coverage of a wedding, with pics and all, using my Adam.
And he happy couple and all guests gathered around it right afterwards, to check the pics.
    Nice show case.
Rohan open up next ordering, and start selling big time 😉

  156. Rohan : One of your “one of your greatest supporters” is getting weary. Please pay heed !!

  157. Looks very interesting but at $4.99 I am going to have to hope Amazon makes it one of their free daily offerings. Still, thanks for the tip at least now I will be keeping my eye out for it.

  158. Tim,

You won’t need to pay amazon anything. Its in your inbox already. 😉

hope you like it. The speech recognition is excellent. It even recognises 95% of the words i speak even though im neither American nor English. 😀

    regards,

  159. yogi u still hanging in 🙂 great to see you here after such a long time.

Today it was proved that rohan is consistently inconsistent and selling dreams only.

    (1) posting biweekly. I think it was the second week. If he would have been person of integrity and of his words , hw could have just posted a blog saying tht there is nothing new to add and he will give details next week. But he knows that he can get away with speaking lie less accurate things and nothing can be done.

    (2) Gingerbird,Genesis etc etc etc may and June busy ,I am not sure how much of it was written with really fulfilling it.

We had EAP1 and results? Did EAP2 even started? Genesis? Books?
He is talking about Adam 2 but I am unsure how many customers will choose to buy adam2 considering the quality of support or to say lack of support
It’s not about being Indian or not Indian but this dillydallying approach and many a times resorting to just spreading canard in his posts will only deteriorate Rohan’s image as a CEO which already taken a beating.

To be blunt and candid ,I am only using adam just because of the wonderful support tabletrom providing. Without i would have stopped using it months ago.

  160. Sounds good! Can I please get the apk file too? thanveer at gmail
    Thanks in advance,

  161. Paul, You have to register a username with tabletroms, then when you sign up you can post.
    Luck,

  162. Thanks for the reply dwarf4242. I have tried to register twice, but it says I am spam. I sent message to the admin. I’ll try again. Paul

  163. so email support on friday and here is what i was told

so I am disapointed now we have one day left

  164. I looked over the Glowhost logs and yeah, your username was flagged as spam. I’ll see what can be done to release it.

    TS

  165. guys,

Seriously, you don’t need to ask me to share it with others..i myself got it from another one of those download websites…its just that i want to reduce the time you guys spend looking for such files..so i email it..so go ahead and share all you want! himanshu, karen..no worries..put it up on another download site if you want to.. :D.. I’ll mail it to you himanshu ( i forgot if i did already..will check) and you can give it to karen…and suresh and chaipu, its on the way to your inbox as soon as i post this.

cheers guys.. im not making these apks, so i have no more / less right to share it than you guys..

    tc.
    regards,

  166. @madamiadam81,

Why do’nt you keep sending good apks to the inbox of your followers like me! Thanks for your services!

  167. LOL…Followers?!!! :)) im Neither Osho nor Bin Laden man! I am just a geek who trawls the cyber underworld looking for such files…don’t “follow” me or you might get lost in it.. LOL..

I can send every app that i think would be good to all the people whose email addresses i have…but every app has a purpose and a user. some might use it..others might not..and if i suddently start sending app after app, it would be akin to sending spam and junk..tht’s why i ask you guys to let me know if you would like me to mail you instead of me just sending it to everyone…
I used to do that in the early days of my relationship with the web..i was forwarding mails about jokes, funny pictures, chain mails etc etc to every person on my address list…cos i thot that since i liked it, everyone else would too..but guess what, most ppl either deleted my forwards or would classify them as junk… and i got told a few times that they don’t want my forwards anymore..lol..so no more unapproved mails from my side buddy..if u want it, just say yes please send it to me and i will. 😉

    regards,

  168. I appreciate and understand. I too have been scouting for apps till a month back but now I am too busy with some other things.. and hence I needed someone like you… 😉 😉

  169. Please advise if you have been able to load the program. It appears to instal but wil not run. I have taken multipe approachs and nothing has worked. Makes me wonder if they have some sort of protection built in against sharing it.

  170. More Apps, Tried and tested. Download links given this time. 😀

    Download link : “http://www.filesonic.com/file/1021746204”

    3) Photosafari (pro) : Photo Safari is a fast, functional and complete gallery application that looks and functions like a Windows Phone 7 gallery application.(Also the first app to have gesture recognition. (Gesture recognition does not work on adam as we have no proximity sensor), the rest of this works. Its quite nice compared to the stock gallery app, although the startup screen is not optimised for tablets.

    Download link : “http://www.filesonic.com/file/997003444”

    4) Thumb Keyboard : One of the best keyboards that i have and the only keyboard app i have paid for. Its totally worth it for Instant messaging. you guys however can get this one for free. This app has not been downloaded by me from the link given below so i cannot verify its authenticity.

    Download link : “http://www.MegaShare.com/3278971”

    Have fun Downloading!

  171. It seems that Jim is having a very busy time when releases are out later then promised.

Jim provided me with excellent support when I wanted to upgrade my PO1 Adam to the current release and I feel sorry that his valuable time now has to be spent to covering for late deliveries again. It can be solved very simple by either adhering to deadlines or by not mentioning them, but Rohan’s enthusiasm apparently still requires him to put his organization (and us customers)at the edge of expectations 😦

  172. Streak 7 running honeycomb hidden gingerbread,

  173. Well how disapointing this has been 3rd week of may has passed and no update i mean even if they had to push it back a week tthey should have posted somewhere that that was the case and why thats all it takes to keep most people happy just a “hey sorry we found some bugs we wanted to get worked out so its gonna be another week till it is released” thats not to much to ask now is it

  174. jlusco, Its all about the dream, not reality. Actually there is no reality, it is all a dream, and a very bad on at that. But you can’t wake up so just sit back in your straps and enjoy the hallucinations being fed to you by the demons (or is it aliens) and keep charging those batteries…

  175. @Dwarf4242, Common, that’s a little extreme even for you; what you say is basicly on point but some of the descriptive adjectives are too vituperous. I am not disagreeing with your feelings just the wording?

  176. PC, ‘Common’ = ‘Come on’ ?
You know when you wake up after a really bad dream, and have that feeling of releaf that it was only a dream? Well, I woke up this morning from no dream, with the feeling that I was entering a bad dream even though I was already awake. Very strange feeling, probably a side effect of recent changes to my pain medication dosage… And then I got to the office an no one was there.
I’ve been expecting the White Rabbit to show up just any time now 😉
Basically not really surprised to have no update. I’m still waiting for a promised RMA number and shipping instructions, so a missing update just fits in quite nicely.
    Waiting is

  177. I really don’t think there are enough adjectives to effectively express our frustration with Notion Ink and their inability to communicate with their once loyal fan base. The only reason adam is having any kind of marginal success is due to an online community of consumers that will it to succeed inspite of Notion Ink.

  178. I just saw this on an Engaget article: “Interestingly enough, Tim’s sources say that Amazon wanted to use a switchable “black and white E Ink-like display and a color LCD” hybrid but the two vendors approached (Qualcomm and Pixel Qi?) won’t be ready with a suitable display until 2012 or 2013.” What does this have to say about the quakity of the pixel qi screen on the adam?

  179. @ Paul Kemp, Wow, Mary Lou Jepsen has some nerve and Rohan, listen up, get NI’s act togetherand stop floating around on perfumed air. You still have a window, use it, light some fires, et an air of urgency, lets get a move on and finalize the deal.

  180. Albert the Honeycomb for Adam by Tabletroms is brilliant stuff! It’s quite amazing – what has been achieved with no Google or NI support!!

  181. justr an fyi i found a plants vs zombies clone that is awsome and is only for tegra devices so wanted to share
    “http://www.mediafire.com/?j36od20d32vbcnz”

  182. Very interesting indeed. I want to order a PQ and in general I felt that the review of PQ-Adams was OK, so I wonder what the crux is here.

I can’t imagine PQ turning away from a customer like Amazon, so either they were not approached or PQ does not feel comfortable enough (or Amazon is just blowing smoke because the profit margin will be too low for them with the current production technologies)

  183. Just saw this on Conclave: “New, higher resolution (1280×800) from Pixel Qi

So, Pixel Qi has announced their 10″ screen with 1280×800 resolution, up from the 1024×600 available in the Adam.

The timing of the announcement opens the possiibility that Notion Ink will offer the new screen in pre-order 3. If this isn’t possible, I imagine there will be a lot of folks declining the opportunity to purchase a great tablet with a (lamentably) previous-generation screen.”

    That would be nice!!

  184. Hi Rohan,

    HELP!

I am happy to see the progress that you are makng, but have become very disappointed with customer service. My po1 adam has cracked glass and i first contacted support on april 8th. I was told that in 2 to 3 weeks time service partners would have replacement parts and i would be contacted. After 3 weeks i sent a follow up email. No reply. I have since then sent some more emails, and no reply at all.

I went through so much pain and suffering just to get a po1 adam and now that i have a service/repair issue i am being ignored.

I think much more effort needs to go into customer support especially when it comes to replying to inquiries. The honesty and follow up of individuals working customer support issues should be a top priority.

I have come to love my adam and depend on it on a day to day basis, but it is six weeks since i cracked the glass and it now seems like i have a product with no support.

    HELP!!!

  185. Reposting as my previous one went into moderation

Funny email from NI. A year ago (31 May 2010 to be precise), I wrote to NI asking them when they are going to launch the Adam. I received a response from them today saying that they have various versions of Adam but none are available!!!!! Incidentally, I got my adam in February 2011. To be fair, I used a different email address to purchase.

    Here’s the email trail:

    Hi guys,

Any idea on when you are launching? I want to be one of the first ones to buy this product.

    Regards,

  186. I think that Mary Lou Jepsen suffers from the same malady that affects Rohan; as futurists, they deal with alternate realities that only partly connect with ours.

  187. I don’t understand!
Adam is out swimming with dolphins or what?
it seems, that they have been swimming too far away from any coast – at deep water. – or is it just a dream?

  188. No news so far, what gives? No biweekly updates either?

Maybe Adam 3.0 will be the one that I get to buy… 😦

  189. The new support tam is apparently working through the back log of emails. Unless they are processing them in a random order, it does give some hope to see that they have now arrived at May 31-th 2010 (that is assuming that they work on the Last In First Out policy that was so popular in their factory during the PO1 orders 😉 ) .

Funny response though as an answer to your question of when you can order. I am not sure if ‘shortly‘ gives reason for hope or despair.

  190. @jetfin: sorry to hear about your problem. Please let us know when you get a reply because customer service is something that is important to all of us. No matter how good the quality is, accidents happen and people might need repair or replacement.

  191. @Paul Kemp: it would indeed be very nice if NI could not only give us updates of software, but also could provide new orders with the latest hardware without waiting for a complete new version of their tablet.

Provided that they can accept any orders at all, a small company can build a reputation that they always provide their customers with the latest available hardware. 🙂

I expect that their current delay is due to the fact that they had decided to change factories to reduce delays. But now the company is in real limbo (see the NI email that Amit posted on the 24th: We have the following versions of Adam, this is the price, but none of them are available )

  192. Hi Amit and Paul,
    for your statistics…
I mailed December 22 with a question and received the answer May 12 ;-(

  193. @Karen. Please, please reconsider, what would we do without you? We count on your many, positive contributions. Your leaving would certainly be a sign of death from which, I don’t think, NI would recover

  194. @Karen Sorry to see that you may be selling your adam. As I have followed this blog, you seemed to be one of the more loyal followers. I am becoming more questioning if I want to go with next round if it ever happens. I am still looking for a tablet that is good for reading outside. I am wondering about the IPS screen (not on an Ipad). Other options seem to be down the road a bit.
    Paul

  195. Hey guys, it’s not about the Adam itself. The machine is all I hoped for and more. It’s more or less the whole experience. It’s like in real life…
You meet someone, get to know eachother, meeting the family ;-), sharing dreams, working on a future. Seducing eachother, sweet talking and promisses and tempted to fall in love.
But the world keeps changing, and one day you wake up realizing that love is unanswered for. Falling in love is the easy part; holding on to it is something different. It needs efforts from both sides. I have been trough a lot in this relationship.
Reconsidering now if I can live knowing the love and thrill is gone and I can have a platonic relationship with my Adam. Nothing more (yet). There’s still a lil sparkle of hope and faith left.
And does splitting up mean you should betray that lovely family that came along with that cute face? Hell no!

In the mean time my hubby ordered himself an iPad2.
‘Cos hey, if you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun…

  196. Rohan,

I hope you are reading this….. a lotof loyal supporters are abandoning the ship.first it was Greg and now Karen…
Who knows how many others have gone

  197. Hey Karen,

I am just curios to what happened to all the folks on Notioninkspot.com. These days we dont see anyone on the blog except for Dwarf…

  198. Hi Suresh,
    thanks for your support.
Some are still here, like Himanshu, Tim and Daiuton!
Bert is working on some personal stuff, same for me.
    And for the rest?

  199. Sad indeed …. to hear this. And though I am following this blog as usual, never thought that it deserved commenting like old times anymore….

but reading this from one more of the old pals here, made me come out of my non commenting slumber.

As for Rohan – miscommunication within your team and with the world outside, and not sticking to commitments – does not help. Period.

The update(s) that might come out some day might ease our pains, but somehow we will not be having the same enthusiasm we had 6 months back.

And, lastly, I hope you are not the reason for the update delay by making last minute changes. You need to understand that you cannot get all things at the same time.

I have to confess that I no longer ask anybody to wait for Adam orders. In fact when iPad 2 released in India, I asked one of my friends to actually go and buy it rather than wait for Adam.

  200. Hey Himanshu, have you tried Opera Mobile 11? It supports flash, synchronize bookmarks, speed dials with your desktop / mobile phone (Opera Link). And even has the turbo mode available with Opera mini.

Also, you should note that Opera is not optimized for Adam, so any screen sizing problem – just go to home and come back, it will be proper again.

But all in all, no one browser is perfect for Android yet. BTW, the stock browser in Android is indeed Chrome, but not comparable to the desktop chrome.

  201. Karen, thanks for the tune, one of my all time favorite bands.
To others, I am still out here, I check blog, forum and TabletRoms daily but have been realy busy so have not posted as often. More important, what has happened to NotionInkSpot, every time I try to log in it says it is unavailable?
Still loving my adam but then I bought it to be a reader and browser with a few games and mail thrown in and it has performed those tasks beautifully. I also got it to help me understand android a bit as I refuse to own a cell phone so all in all the experience has been great for me. I remain hopeful that updates will continue but I do not worry about the dates, at my age I have adopted the when it happens it happens philosophy and I highly recommend it, wish I had mellowed into it a couple of decades ago. 🙂

  202. say it aint so. what will we do without your musical highlights and wonderful outlook on life.

  203. @Karen,
I left also, about a month ago. Felt the same way. I also had real high hopes about Adam. I was with Adam from the beginning , but it became real frustrating. I wish it could have turned out differently.

I sold my Adam on eBay, at my cost and threw in some extra stuff for free, new screen protector, stand, 4GB memory and Carbon fiber strip kit. Was not trying to make a profit on the system. Sold in about 8 hours.

Bought an ASUS 10.1″ Tablet Transformer 32 GB TF101-B1, runs around 8 hours for $499.99. Been very happy with my purchase, and excellent support. Running Honeycomb 3.0. Getting an update to 3.1 at the end of May or Early June.

All the best to you, and all of the other people. I will miss all of your company.

    FJG

  204. @Veera I will definitely try it mate. I am busy at study front so not able to soa lot of things with adam but installed HC. But then as per my usage I am not able to appreciate the new changes as compare to froyo. So fro me though HC comes with anawe factor, it has not brought any usability factor till now .

Even i will not in my dreams will suggest someone to buy adam. I am waiting for Asus Transformer to hit Indian stores 🙂

  205. Karen, I totally agree with all you said.
I’m currently waiting on instructions to return my Adam for repair/replacement, but it has been over a week since I was promised RMA instructions…
I went with the Transformer, and am very pleased to have stock Honeycomb, even though my second hand machine is currently running TabeltROM’s Honeycomb for Adam (the WiFi is pretty flaky).
I will probably keep one of the Adams as a machine to experiment with Linux, but my “use every day machine” has become the Transformer. It is even quite usable in direct sunlight!
    Best of luck Karen!

  206. Paul, did you ever actually receive an Adam? I thought you had already ordered one long ago…

  207. I’m still here, too, lurking – although (my apologies) I have been (and will be) silent for a while.

I am so outright busy at the moment, I can’t even breathe properly…. 😦

(And my sincere apologies for promising so much on NIspot and not contributing. It is not my style, but there is so much else to do…)

But – in brief – I still have my adam (still on stock + adhoc/market/root ’cause no time for experiments) and I even manage to use it in a reasonable manner. It’s with me all day and although there are many annoying bugs, I would definitely NOT say that I wasted time, money and heartache. It travelled with me to Ireland (short holiday – even those are time-consuming, eh?) and it survived and even proved to be useful.

Would appreciate a severe update nevertheless – or a good alternative ROM.

I follow this blog via RSS from time to time but I’m not up to date. But I am glad to see you, Dwarf, Himanshu and severals others still alive, in action and struggling with their device 😉

But I guess, I won’t get back to you before july…

Keep up – I am with you (though’ you hardly see me)

    bye

  208. Dwarf, No I missed the 1st round due to a mixup on the time, then I began to wonder if I really wanted adam with all the problems showing up around round 2, so still lurking. I really wish I could hold one in my hands before making a decision. With more positive responses about PQ, I am leaning toward buying, if NI improves in support area. I am not as much a geek as I used to be! Peace

  209. Hi Karen,

That is an unexpected surprise. Anything that NI can do (in the next release) to make you enjoy it enough to want to keep it?

  210. Hi Karen,

Well worded. I hope that Rohan reads it, including your words “There’s still a little sparkle of hope and faith left“. I think that that applies to many of us.

Relationships are built based on communication. It was communication that brought us here. Let’s hope that IIT techs are not only capable of talking about “NEON, PVRTC, Parallel Processing, 3D gesture detection” but that they are also able to build a stable relationships rather then having many affairs. We need both: vision & stable operation.

Except for the size (I clearly find myself more a fan of the smaller 7 inch tablets), I am happy with the Adam and will continue using it. I even expect that I will order a PQ-version during the next round of orders. Jim has been outstanding in offering software support and I hope that soon I will also feel comfortable enough with the hardware support (to others on this blog) that I can advice Adam to other people again. As you say: There’s still a little sparkle of hope and faith left“.

  211. Almost three weeks gone by without news or updates…
    What is notionink doing/thinking?
Rohan come on – you already lost a lot – you’ll loose everything.

I still like my (stock) adam, but since about a week many applications are crashing on startup. I think there is a problem that there location link somehow got corrupted (phone/sd card memory). I have to set up everything again and would prefer to do that with an update.

best wishes to everybody who’s still hoping
and to all that have lost hope.

  212. Hello all,
does anybody know something noteworthy on the announced updates?

  213. adam, I’m sure my comment isn’t noteworthy either, but it isn’t clear that Suresh is correct in his comment either…
    Waiting is

  214. Well to be frank, Notion ink is the only one who knows about the updates. On the conclave, King mentioned that it will be released soon, well the definition of soon is unclear.

In a way, I was correct, and also I was trying to spin up some humor. Well if some one already knows about it, they would have already mentioned.

  215. I’m not sure that this is noteworthy either, but I just received RMA instructions from Support. They were very clear to point out that my replacement can not be sent until they have produced some more Adams of my type, but were very unclear as to when that would happen. I can only assume that it will be some time after the next pre-order round has started. As always…
    Waiting is

  216. Sorry for being annoyed. Nevertheless: Thanks a lot for your answers.

It would be nice if Rohan could shed light on the matter. But I suspect this is too much optimism.

  217. Hang in there, all relationships go through courtship, when both sides put their best foot forward; resolution, when they finally manage to get together; disillusionment, when the magic seems to vanish and finally normalization, when you love because love is not love which alters when it alteration finds 🙂

Most relationships are unable to survive the disillusionment phase and as you have said it needs efforts from both sides. But hey, sometimes one side might be slow to come around. Give it another day, another chance and another gift of love, and then by all means, walk away. 😀

  218. Hi guys,
good to see you all in here again. and thanks for all your ‘marriage counseling’.
I will take it under advice, and rethink carefully. As ‘patience’ seems to be my middlename, I can assure you all my decision will not be made easily.
Knowing you are still here helps a lot.
Any word from NI here would certainly help. we are all worth being told the truth, even if it isn’t an easy truth. Anything is better than this silence.

  219. Advent vegacomb 200 pounds! NOTION INK!! What are you doing NI, it costs huge to get Adam in UK, and that too without honeycomb!!! More than 200 pounds!

And these other honeycomb tablets are crazy priced, same hardware as NI, but not better, they are selling at over 400 pounds!

Come on NI, put some discipline in this battered tablet market where Ipad will always rule! Windows 8 coming!!!

  220. For my part, what I’ve had to do is “switch off”, because whenever I F5 myself to death awaiting an update I go crazy. This is one reason why I haven’t commented much on the blog. I check it maybe once a day through the RSS feed, but its just too painful to remain close. I just can’t afford to spend every day in hopeful expectation of some sign of life.

I use my adam every day, and sometimes run into a problem that I hope the next update will fix, but I have had to distance myself otherwise I get dragged down by the “silent treatment” from NI.

Here’s hoping that KING’s comments on conclave “very soon and it is very exciting” mean “soon” by our definition (a week – AT MOST) and “exciting” by our definition (A complete solution with dramatic improvements in performance and functionality)

    Peaceout adamfreaks

  221. @Dwarf, real sorry to hear about your problems, but happy that NI at least answered. It looks as if the new production facility is still working on getting the production line ready. It will indeed be nice to know if that is a matter of days, weeks or months.

  222. Yes Paul,

I think NI needs to clearly work on three areas:

    1. Screen Resolution and clarity: This has been my biggest disappointment. As much as I would like to believe that I am not influenced by glamour (read Apple) and prefer utility over style, the screen brightness, contrast and general responsiveness of the PQi screen is clearly lacking. If this is fixed, a lot of the other problems will be overlooked by me.

    2. Software backing the hardware: As you know any hardware is only as good as the software backing it. The promptness with which I expected NI to react to introduction of Gingerbread and Honeycomb just isn’t there. My expectation was built by none other than Rohan himself who has on more than one occasion asked us to “watch out” for how quickly NI gets onto Gingerbread and Honeycomb. That clearly hasn’t happened. If Tabletroms beat them to it with no support from Google, then you’re clearly not as quick as you think. BTW, not completely off the topic, I think Tabletroms has done a fantastic job with Honeycomb on the adam.

    3. Battery life: Frankly, the promised battery life just isn’t there. I don’t have the confidence to rely on the adam’s battery life to take it out of office with the hope of replacing my laptop.

There are other issues but they aren’t as bothersome and I can live with those. Hey, I am not complaining – you asked!

  223. Well Rohan, I have pretty much decided to buy the new NOOK Touch as my reader and a new Netboob for everything else and keep my Adam as a toy and learning tool. In the new year all of the different Os’s should be on the market and I will make my tablet decision. They all seem to be evolving in interesting ways and one will eventually develop an E-reader capability. Until then waiting is…………..

  224. I have put Adam on sale for a month on craigslist/eBay @350 with no buyers so far. This should be a concern for NI in their next PO3.

If they can resolve couple of issues like replace existing LCD with a PLS or a much better HD LCD many of the issues can be overlooked. This would be a concern for PO1/2 customers but for NI to survive to the minimum extent this is required. I can take the hit but NI surviving is more important. 2nd Wifi/bluetooth/GPS issues needs to be resolved.

If they can provide this and come up with a clear statement about HC release (release in next 1-2 months), it may gain some momentum.

Later for main market release they may have make Adam more slim/small compared to others so that people can carry Adam more comfortably. Recently when I looked at couple of guys carrying iPad/Xoom, they slide it in a small leather case I didn’t realize that they are in fact carrying tablet, it looked so slim and comfortable.

I am waiting till 3rd quarter for a Tegra 3 tablets (especially Amazon tablet for their world class support and quality) with all hardware ports like Acer/Toshibha. Till then Adam is supplementing my tablet requirement.

So far in the last 2 months of usage, I didn’t feel like taking Adam out for work/weekend as its too bulky to carry unlike xoom/iPad2/Acer/Asus.

NI please refine your Adam before PO3 (slim, better LCD) to succeed. Its only a suggestion as I want them to sustain between the big guys. Hope Adam doesn’t become DoA.

  225. Hurray!!! today it’s friday, so I can’t wait till tomorrow for my weekly update. – …so by then, I don’t have to consider rooting or to buy another tablet. – Come ‘soon’ saturday 🙂
    …peace, anyway!

  226. Hi Amit,

Happy with your comments, a quick reaction:

    1) I have an LCD ( was too late for ordering PQ in PO1) but want to move to PQ. So everything they can improve there is very welcome.

    2) It is as Karen says as well: a relationship has to come from 2 sides and one reason why many of us purchased Adam was because we expected that NI would be faster then other manufacturers in providing the latest software. It will be nice if they can start living up to that promise. Even regular updates of their own Eden apps are already welcome.

    3) The battery is my big disappointment. I am happy with the battery life but as I travel a lot, I bought in on the promise that the battery was replaceable by the user. I have to acknowledge that that is the case. You don’t have to return the Adam ( like an iPad) to get a new battery. But I expected something more like a phone, where I could travel with 3 or 4 batteries and change them on the fly. I hope that the next version of Adam can do that.

I am happy with my Adam, and interested in buying a PQ-version. But I asked this question specifically so NI can look at the current user requirements and make the current users as happy and loyal as possible.

    Reg.

    Paul

  227. FOr me this is the last Saturday. If Rohan does not update this blog today I am going to unsubscribe from it. Nothing like rant or frustration but it’s feel so sad to see many of the mates here feel cheated like me . And Rohan seems more like a charlatan as weeks pass on.

  228. Hi Calle60,

Happy you join the crowd of Adam people who run stock Eden and still expect/hope that NI will come with official releases soon enough to prevent us from rooting or looking at other devices.

I hope that Saturdays become a day of celebration again, but I am afraid that Suresh is very right with his remark “You got to be kidding me …“.

  229. Hi Himanshu,

I still have faith in Rohan, but my demeanor changed as well. I used to click on the “like” button when I saw a post form Rohan that I liked.

But now; if the main item of a post is a promise ( such as “the next update all the existing Adam user will get due in the 3rd week of this month”), then I will wait until the deliverables are available to us before I click on the “like” button.

For a CEO it is difficult to steer your company to the future while at the same time making sure that your current service is up to standard. But there is nothing as important as keeping your current customers happy as they are your current sales people AND your buyers of future releases. I think that Rohan is involved with many exciting things, but let’s hope that they also realize that they need a happy customer base in order to prosper.

  230. All said and done – Notion Ink is a one man show and Rohan likes it that way.

Have you ever seen any of his senior colleagues ever contribute anything to this blog ?

May be it is his personal Blog but actually it seems to be more Informative and authentic source of Information on Notion Ink and Adam than the actual website.

His blog dominates his company’s official website just like he dominates his company.

It is none of our business so far as he is delivering a good product but usually one man shows fail especially when that man is obsessive and too possessive about his Ideas and Products.

He wont hire people who will not fall in line with his Ideas and line of thinking.

He may be brilliant individually but his current product is not so unique that it will not need many more brilliant people in his team to constantly improve the Product and more importantly improve the business operations and processes involved in Production and marketing the products on a large scale.

Even if his product was Unique no business can do well without a great team of Business Administrators.Developing a great product is one thing and delivering to the world at large at affordable rates is another thing.

Psychological profiling of Rohan is very important to consider much the same as technical profiling of Adam is.

If I may sum it up

I think no body will be surprised, least of all his colleagues, if Adam was renamed ROHAN. Some, including Rohan himself, may even like the Idea.

  231. dude Jagan….. Thanks for skeptical thinking and strange view….. I am pretty sure that you are not a follower of ADAM… for your information ROHAN is CEO of Notion Ink. (like when you think apple you name steve jobs, same way when you think of Adam you name Rohan). NI is start up company hence spokesperson and media is handle by himself, to minimize the miscommunication. Second thing, it not his personal blog, it is routed from company website only. They used forum concept to get attached directly with customer…. to understand this concept you need to read some marketing books. Third thing…. Product is really unique…. with its design, with its EDEN and and many more….. if you find other tablets most of them try to copy I Pad but ADAM is totally different from that…. need to have technical knowledge and capability to differentiate from other. Another thing… Notion Ink not only develop good product but they delivered too…. that also at affordable rate…. see the pre order 1 and 2…. delivered it successfully…. As a start up company they did well… and now they come with pre order 3 and got the huge response…. is it possible without teamwork dude….. not at all…. so check you skeptical view dude…..

  232. Guess you made some valid points. God could use you when he gets confused on judgement day 🙂
